A little about me...
I am Saul Bookman -- currently the Digital Content Manager at Bally Sports Arizona. In a little over three years I have implemented social and digital strategy for our brand that has led to an increase in impressions, engagement, video views, link clicks, and watch time by over 300%. analytics is my passion and I use it to drive our strategy into the most effective ways in order to achieve the most with the bandwidth we have. I create social and digital strategies not only for our network but also for clients such as Wendy’s, Gila River casinos, Chas Roberts, Ford, Nissan, Chevy, Honda, Tire Pros, and White Claw. I work in unison with our team partners at the Phoenix Suns, Arizona Diamondbacks, Arizona Coyotes, Phoenix Mercury, and Arizona Cardinals to unify messaging and spread content on multiple fronts. It has been a blast!
Prior, I was the Engagement Editor at the national-award-winning, 118-year-old Arizona Daily Wildcat student news outlet, serving the University of Arizona and greater Tucson communities. I have diverse experiences, both in life and career, that have given me unique perspectives on the world of basketball, which undoubtedly would prove beneficial in a position with any organization.
I was not a traditional student by any measure; the road I traveled to get to this point has not been easy. It started with seeing the ups and downs of the college basketball recruitment process as a successful high school player myself. It continued as I spent more than half a decade in leadership positions within the U.S. Air Force. I became a father along the way, before returning to college, again finding my place in sports – this time not on the court, but from the vantage point of content producer and distributor – as I received both my bachelor’s (May 2017) and master’s (May 2018) degrees.
I draw from my time in the military and continue to learn from anyone who can share wisdom. Nothing exemplifies this more than my time at The Daily Wildcat. I have been fortunate to lead a team of young reporters to several accolades, both individually and as an organization, due to the depth and breadth of our truly multi-angle, multi-platform coverage on one of the more prominent college sports campuses in the nation.
